The release date that went out from the publisher with the title was posted as July 1st. That is causing an unnecessary delay in ordering through some outlets. Barnes & Noble/Border's likely won't be able to order from their distributors until July. My distributor, Itasca Books, was able to update Amazon to June 1st. Amazon still states that the book is not available but that is not true. Orders from them should be shipping. Based on their demand, they keep some books in-house for shipment. Otherwise they will automatically default to a 2-week delivery. We have plenty of inventory available but it will take a couple more weeks according to Itasca for the order data to update. Sorry for the delays if that is the case with your order. I haven't heard directly from anyone about a problem so far. July 1, 2010 will be a hard date for the stores as their data base will not see the book as available until the release date of July 1st. This is not an uncommon problem with new releases - particularly from small presses. Patience is needed.
The good news is that the book will be stocked in all Barnes and Noble stores in North Dakota. I will plan to do a book signing tour there once the stores have open access to the inventory and have the title stocked in their store.
The book was due in Amazon's Kindle store by Tuesday of this week. So far it has not been released. According to my account with them the eBook is ready but under editorial review. The formatting looked okay to me from their digital files but there were some minor format problems that hopefully can be corrected before it goes live. If you have a Kindle, the book is a real deal at $4.95.
