January 1, 2010 - Release Date
This week I had good discussions with my marketing and publicity staff. My publicist wanted the release date pushed out to January 2010, which allows plenty of time to complete the layout and marketing efforts. The book will be put together in the next two months and books for pre-release publicity could print by November. The BookSense Promotion Program involves independent booksellers who will hopefully place orders in advance of release. I'm busy notifying some media outlets now in order to generate some interest in the advanced copy reading program. Some media publicity is necessary for a successful launch of the book. I have to assist the publicist and marketing director with a marketing plan for the book distributors. The book will be announced to all the major media outlets and distributors. During this time the publisher will build my website where I can post reviews, excerpts, my biography and have links to purchase books. Go team!

When all seems to be approved, Jan 2010 seems like a long way off... but marketing and production do take time, and the latter surely can't start until, well, all the i's are dotted and the t's are all crossed. Congratulations on getting this far.
