North Dakota Is On Fire
Between the golden fields of harvested grain on the surface of Eastern Dakota and the oil underneath the surface of Western Dakota, the whole state is on fire! I think there must be a story lurking in the tent cities of Williston and the trailer camps of Dickinson. People are coming from all over to work in the oil fields. The farmers in the East are bragging about the best grain crops ever. The corn, sunflower and soybean crops are waiting their turn to be combined. The trains are humming up and down the track with 90 car grain hoppers. There are reports of record enrollment at the state's colleges and universities. John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" can be rewritten as a golden "field of Dreams." Check out the North Dakota album at my face book fan page.
