Livingston, Montana the Gateway to Yellowstone National Park
Depot Center at Livingston was Northern Pacific's proudest accomplishments. In the good old days passengers transferred to trains that took them to the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner where the tourist boarded buses for a tour of the park. Those days are gone forever but the depot still reigns supreme. Amtrak, the state of Montana and the city of Livingston will have to figure out where passengers will board and exit the train should the North Coast Hiawatha once again run on the route. So much for train politics! The signing last night at the Livingston Public Library was a success thanks to the Livingston Enterprise for the publicity and to Milla and her library friends who attended and supplied the refreshments. Thank you all again for a wonderful tour.
